Fun change up for a Burger
Cooking in the Kerkhof Kitchen
This week’s demo
Burger Bombs
This is a quick and easy and affordable dinner!!!
You can use a roll of Biscuit batter or use the Bisquick mix – but I have a recipe that is tried and true and easy to make – so I make my own Biscuits
📝 Ingredients :
Whisk together – 3 cup flour, 2 T Baking Powder, 1/2 tsp salt (I used A Spice Affair’s Himalayan Pink Salt) and 2T of A Spice Affair’s Turkey Gravy Seasoning
Cut in 3/4 cup cold butter
Slowly add in 13/4 cup milk
Fold in 1 1/2 c shredded cheddar
THEN
make a “patty” of the biscuit mix – lay it flat on baking sheet lined with parchment paper – using a spoon – make an indent in the center
Meanwhile you will have cooked up 1 lb of ground beef with the MONTREAL BURGER SEASONING AND 1/2 tsp A Spice Affair GPS
And then I also sautéed some mushrooms and onions with CARAMELIZED ONION
Top the patty with some of the meat mixture, the veggies and some shredded cheddar. Patty up another biscuit half and place on top, sealing the edges as best you can!
Then.. brush with some melted butter and GARLIC CRUSH
Bake in oven at 400 for 20 min
While baking – prepare some
SMASH BURGER SAUCE: 1c mayo, 2 T Smash Burger Seasoning, 2 T ketchup, 1 Tbsp relish – stir all together
Serve this sauce on the side, and serve with a salad or coleslaw.
p.s. another idea is to put in a couple of sliced dill pickles in the middle!
Can you see how quick and easily this comes together and is a well balanced meal too?
