Smashed Potato Poutine, Smashed Burger and Fresh Garden Salad
Another Outdoor Cooking Demo!
Smashed Potato Poutine
Steam your potatoes
Season the grill with some oil – we like to use coconut oil. Cook the potatoes on the grill. Once browned on one side, flip them over then smash them. Season with a bit of GPS.
Top with some cheese curds, and cover with the dome lid to help the cheese to melt.
Once you have plated the potatoes – then pour on the Poutine Sauce:
1 cup cold water, whisk in 2 1/2 T of the Poutine sauce mix, keep whisking. Bring to a boil then simmer for a couple of minutes, to thicken it up a bit more.
Smashed Burger
1 lb ground meat, mix with 1 egg and 2 T of seasoning of choice. We chose to use the NEW Halifax Donair Seasoning. Make a small ball of the meat and place on the grill. Grill up one side for a few minutes, then flip it and now you have a crispy top so that when you smash the burger down, it won’t stick. You don’t want these burgers to be too thick because you have them to crisp up.
Season with a bit of BBQ Infused Sea Salt.
Fresh Garden Salad
cut into chunks some field cucumber, a tomato and some sweet or red onion. Add a bit of mayo and a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 tsp of Everything Dill. I also added some fresh basil and mint leaves from my plants on my deck!
