๐Ÿฒ Savory Asian-Inspired Ground Beef & Cabbage Skillet

  • ๐Ÿฅฉ 1 lb lean ground beef
  • ๐Ÿง„ 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ๐ŸŒฐ 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • ๐Ÿฅฌ ยฝ head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • ๐Ÿฅ• 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • ๐Ÿฅข 3 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • ๐Ÿ‹ 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • ๐Ÿฏ 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
  • ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 1 tsp Korean rub (sub for chili flakes)
  • ๐ŸŸข 2 green onions, chopped
  • ๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • โœจ ยฝโ€“1 tsp ground ginger (sub for fresh ginger)

  1. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Brown the beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed. Remove beef and set aside.
  2. ๐Ÿง„ Sautรฉ aromatics: In the same skillet, add sesame oil. Stir in garlic, onion, and ground ginger. Cook for 2โ€“3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. ๐Ÿฅฌ Add veggies: Stir in cabbage and carrot. Cook for about 5โ€“6 minutes, tossing often, until cabbage softens.
  4. ๐Ÿฅข Season & combine: Return beef to the skillet. Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin (if using), and Korean rub. Mix well until everything is coated and heated through.
  5. ๐ŸŒฟ Finish & serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve hot straight from the pan โ€” delicious on its own or over rice/noodles if you like!
