๐ฒ Savory Asian-Inspired Ground Beef & Cabbage Skillet
๐ Ingredients
- ๐ฅฉ 1 lb lean ground beef
- ๐ง 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ๐ฐ 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- ๐ฅฌ ยฝ head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- ๐ฅ 1 medium carrot, julienned
- ๐ฅข 3 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- ๐ 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- ๐ฏ 1 Tbsp hoisin sauce (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- ๐ถ๏ธ 1 tsp Korean rub (sub for chili flakes)
- ๐ข 2 green onions, chopped
- ๐ข๏ธ 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- โจ ยฝโ1 tsp ground ginger (sub for fresh ginger)
๐ฉโ๐ณ Instructions
- ๐ฅ Brown the beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed. Remove beef and set aside.
- ๐ง Sautรฉ aromatics: In the same skillet, add sesame oil. Stir in garlic, onion, and ground ginger. Cook for 2โ3 minutes until fragrant.
- ๐ฅฌ Add veggies: Stir in cabbage and carrot. Cook for about 5โ6 minutes, tossing often, until cabbage softens.
- ๐ฅข Season & combine: Return beef to the skillet. Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin (if using), and Korean rub. Mix well until everything is coated and heated through.
- ๐ฟ Finish & serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve hot straight from the pan โ delicious on its own or over rice/noodles if you like!
