Cooking in the Kerkhof Kitchen

Cheeseburger Pie
• 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
• 1 pound ground beef (or beef/pork blend)
• 1/2 tsp Granulated Garlic)
• 1 tsp  A Spice Affair GPS, and 1 tsp Paprika
• 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
• ½ cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)
• 1 cup whole milk
• 2 large eggs

*1 tsp Everything Bacon

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a 9-inch pie plate with a layer of fresh spinach
In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat and fry the chopped onion (and can add some peppers too if you like) until soft (about 3 minutes). Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and season with GPS, and Garlic and Paprika. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly into the prepared pie plate. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
Make the Batter: Whisk together the Bisquick mix (or flour), milk, and eggs until combined. Pour this batter over the beef and cheese layers then sprinkle with the Everything Bacon
Place the pie in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
