2 ways…
Chicken Cordon Bleu – and you can pick which way you want to cook it!
Grab your chicken breasts, and before they are completely defrosted, slice them in half if they are thick! This way, they are easier to roll, and will cook more quickly. Place a plastic bag, or parchment paper over top of each piece and tenderize with a meat mallet.
Scramble up an egg.
Sprinkle some Garlic Magic Coating mix on a plate.
Dip the breast in the egg and then dip into the coating mix. Coating both sides. Add a piece of cooked ham over top, and then use either provolone cheese – or I used mozzarella since it is more cost effective.
Roll up the breast and secure with a toothpick.
Now this is where you can make a choice
1 – place the rolled breast in the air fryer and cook for 5 – 7 min – depending on the strength of your airfryer
or … 2
Place all pieces in a shallow baking dish. Pour any leftover coating mix over top. Put a little dollop of butter on top of each breast.
Pour about 1 cup of prepared Chick’n Free Broth mix around the edges of the pan, then also pour some white wine in the pan too
Bake in the oven for about 25 min (again – depends on the thickness of the breasts)
This method will create some sauce – which will keep the underside of the breast a bit softer, and the top side, more crispy.
Then you can also make up some of the Chicken gravy and serve the breast over rice and drizzle with some gravy.
Serve with some steamed veggies or a salad.
The air fryer way will make it more crispy. You can choose to serve it with some gravy this way too!
Enjoy
